We believe true life begins when you realize that God doesn’t need anything from you, but He does want things for you. We also believe one of the easiest ways to live that is by connecting into the life of the local church. Check out the ministries below to see some ways you can connect here at Journey South Bay.
Life Groups
Groups create a space for people to make friends, grow spiritually together, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. Our life groups are varied for different ages and walks of life and meet in homes, coffee shops, or on our church campus where people connect and share life together. Very few things will jump start your walk with Christ like finding a group and sharing life with others.
Youth
Our goal is to help and come alongside the parents to help students grow in their faith and relationship with Christ. A larger Friday night gathering is just the tip of the iceberg. We also have mid-week bible studies for students, a winter retreat, special outreach events where students can invite their friends, and of course the highlight, is a week-long experience at Hume Lake Camp each summer. Young Adults | Age 18-30's
We are excited that you are interested in our young adult ministry. We know that this season of life has its unique challenges of beginning a career, building community, possibly getting married, and sometimes even starting a family. We would like to do all we can to come alongside you to encourage you and enhance your spiritual maturity. For more information email our young adults coordinator below.
Seasoned Adults | Age 65+
Unfortunately, many organizations including churches, relegate “seniors” to the back of the bus. They don’t pay much attention to them, but at JSB we believe that those over the age of 65 not only have a lot to offer the church but also, have new and more ways to grow spiritually. We are getting our “65+” adults together as a group, scheduling fun activities, discussing pertinent topics to the stage of life we are in (like our Grandparenting Matters curriculum), but most importantly, challenging “seasoned adults” to continue growing in their faith. Service Teams
We are blessed to have a great staff at Journey South Bay, and yet, our church really wouldn’t work without the contributions of the many volunteers that faithfully serve our congregation and community. JSB Kidz Ministry
We consider Kidz Ministry to be one of our most important and priority groups at JSB. For that reason we work hard and go out of our way to create a fun creative environment and also pour into our Kidz Ministry Team so they are prepared and equipped to serve kids and families well.
