Dear Bothers and Sisters,
Thank you very much for your interest in participating and serving at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House located at 1250 Lyman Place, Los Angeles, CA 90029.
As I mentioned at church, my wife Rosane, our children and I have been volunteering there for about 7 years. We serve once a month by preparing "meals of love" to all families at The House (approximately 75 to 100 families) who for the most part have terminally ill children.
Our goal has been to have 4 Christian churches serving all year round (one church every Saturday) and witnessing to these families in need. So far, the Lord has blessed us with 3 Christian churches with one year commitment and I am praying that Journey will be the fourth church.
Our group at Journey South Bay will be preparing the meals the first Saturday of every month (next meal will be on May 7, then June 4 ). Cooks usually get there at 4pm so we can serve dinner between 6pm and 6.30pm. Those volunteers that feel comfortable speaking (praying and carrying trays of food) to the families can get there before 5pm.
You don't need to worry about what to bring or what to do the first time. All we need from you is your presence so you can see and find the right fit. I am sure no matter what you do there you will be a blessing.
I will send an email a week before each Meal so we can see how many volunteers we have (there is a maximum of 14 volunteers per meal).
Please feel free to contact us anytime if you need additional info or you can click here.
Thank you and Blessings,
Francisco and Rosane Lopez
